Easy Sew Felt Jack-o-Lantern Treat Bag

An Easy Sew Felt Jack-o-lantern Treat Bag is the perfect little homemade bag to give to your close friends or your children’s teachers for Halloween.  This little bag was quick and easy to make and you could make custom faces.   The children could even help out making them!

TIME:   30 minutes
SKILL LEVEL:   Easy with basic knowledge of sewing machine use.

YOU WILL NEED:

9″ x 12″ craft cuts Kunin Classicfelt in Orange, Black, and Copper Canyon
Scissors
Sewing Machine
Beacon Felt Glue
Green Ribbons (I used 3 different types/colors)
Pins (Optional)

STEP ONE:

Using a pair of scissors, cut the Orange felt in half, and then trim 6” from each piece, creating two 6” x 6” squares.

Cut a 2” x 12” strip from the Copper Canyon felt and then cut it in half, creating two 2”x 6” pieces.

STEP TWO:

Using pins or eyeballing and holding in place, sew the Copper Canyon felt piece to the top of one of the Orange squares.   Repeat this for the second set.

STEP THREE:

Place the two pieces together, front sides together so that you will be sewing the bag inside out.

Pin the bag or hold it in place to sew.   Do not sew the Copper Canyon part of the bag but start sewing just below the Copper Canyon and around the outside edge of the Orange felt.

Turn the bag the right side out.   Make sure to push the corners of the bag out from the inside.

STEP FOUR:

Using scissors cut the Jack-o-lanterns eyes and mouth from the Black felt.   TIP:  You can freehand cut the pieces or find patterns online.

Glue the pieces to the bag creating a face.   Let this dry.

STEP FIVE:

Fill with treats.  Tie the ribbon around the bag just below the Copper Canyon.

Now the bag is ready to give to someone special!   Happy Halloween!
