This fun and colorful marbled heart wreath provides a cheery welcome to your front door or gate. The calm and softly textured minty Kunin Felt is the perfect base to the vibrant colors of the leathery smooth Sclupey Souflle Clay.
Here’s what you will need:
• Sculpey® Souffle Oven Bake Clay – 10.8oz. Variety Pack
• Sculpey® Work n’ Bake Clay Mat
• Sculpey® Essential Tools Kit – Clay Roller
• Kunin® Classic™ Felt 9” x 12” Craft Cuts – Minty (5)
• Straw Wreath 12”, Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks, Ruler, Permanent Marker, Scissors, Buttons, Mini Heart Cookie Cutter
Here’s how to make it:
Step One:
Condition seven different colors of Sculpey Souffle, then twist off a ½ oz. section from each clay block. Knead then roll each color into an 8” snake on the Work and Bake Clay Mat. I love the non-stick surface of the Clay Mat.
Step Two:
Gather clay snakes all together, then twist and roll into one large snake.
Step Three:
Fold, twist and roll the clay until it is marbled to your satisfaction.
Step Four:
Roll out the clay to ¼” thick on the Work and Bake Clay Mat with the Clay Roller from the Essential Tool Kit. The Clay Mat has the perfect non-skid silicone surface that won’t move as you create!
Step Five:
Using a mini heart cookie cutter, cut out approximately two dozen hearts.
Step Six:
Bake marbled hearts according to package directions for size and thickness of clay. Bake directly on the Clay Mat! Then set aside to cool.
Step Seven:
Measure and cut 15 strips 3” wide by 10” long from five craft cuts of Kunin Classic™ Felt in Minty. Hot glue each strip around the straw wreath form. Cut the remaining five rectangles of felt into skinny strips and tie randomly around the wreath.
Step Eight:
Attach the baked and cooled marbled hearts randomly around the wreath with hot glue. Embellish with a variety of tiny yellow buttons.
