Rustic and whimsical, this Buffalo Plaid Hoop Wreath is the perfect way to greet your guest during the holidays as well as all winter long. Easy to create and goes together in about an hour!
Here’s what you will need:
• Kunin Premium™ Felt 9” x 12” Craft Cuts – Black, Charcoal, Olive, Kelly Green and Apple Green (one each)
• Kunin Classic™ Felt Yardage – Red (1/2 Yard)
• E6000 Fabri-Fuse fabric glue
• Wooden Embroidery Hoop (14”)
• Wooden Greeting
• Medium Wood Tone Spray Stain
• Greenery with Pinecones (2 branches)
• Stablio Aquarellable White Pencil
• Scissors, Pencil, Plain Paper, Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
Here’s how to make it:
Step One:
In a well-ventilated area or outside, spray the embroidery hoop and wooden greeting with a medium tone stain. Let dry.
Step Two:
From yardage, cut a 16” by 16” square of Kunin Classic™ Felt Red, insert in embroidery hoop, pull gently to make felt taught and then tighten screw at top. Trim excess from back of hoop.
Step Three:
Measure and cut 2” by 2” squares – nine (9) from Kunin Premium™ Felt Black and twenty-four (24) from Kunin Premium™ Felt Charcoal. Lay out Buffalo Plaid pattern, starting with the black square in the center and alternating with charcoal squares.
Step Four:
Once you are pleased with the composition, attach squares with fabric glue. Let glue dry. Once dry, carefully trim the edges.
Step Five:
Draw simple tree shapes on plain paper, cut out and fit on to front of hoop. Then trace trees onto Kunin Premium™ Felt Kelly Green, Olive and Apple Green. Cut out and attach to hoop with fabric glue.
Step Six:
Attach stained wooden greeting and greenery branches to hoop with hot glue gun.
