Supplies:
- Kunin Eco-Fi® PrestoFelt™ in White
- Kunin Eco-Fi® Felt in White, Red
- Kunin Eco-Fi® GlitterFelt™ in Royal Blue
- Bamboo Skewers
- White Spray Paint
- Sizzix Star Die
- Sizzix Circle Die
- Sizzix Big Shot die cutting system
- Scissors
- Hot Glue Gun
Assembly:
1.) Lay the bamboo skewers flat and spray paint white. Allow to dry. Repeat on the other side of the skewers.
2.) Cut stars from Kunin Eco-Fi® PrestoFelt™ in White.
3.) Peel the backing from one white star. Lay the top of the skewer in the center of the star. Peel the backing from a second white star and press on top, sticky sides touching, sandwiching the skewer between the stars. Repeat to create as many white stars as desired.
4.) Cut a 4” x 12” piece of Kunin Eco-Fi® Felt in Red. Cut fringe along the 12” side, cutting to 1” before the opposite edge of the strip.
5.) Apply hot glue to the un-cut area of the felt and roll around a bamboo skewer. Repeat with Kunin Eco-Fi® Felt in White.
6.) Cut a 3” x 4” piece of Kunin Eco-Fi® GlitterFelt™ in Royal Blue. Add a bead of hot glue along the 5” side of the felt. Press the top of a bamboo skewer into the glue. Wrap the felt strip around and onto itself to make a tube – adhere in place with hot glue. Cut a circle from a piece of Kunin Eco-Fi® Felt in Red.
7.) Snip out about 1/3 of the circle, like a pie graph. Adhere the edges of the cut to each other with hot glue. Adhere the “hat” to the top of the skewer to top off the “firework”.
8.) Place all of the skewers in a vase or jar filled with buttons for a quick and easy 4th of July floral display!
I hope you enjoyed this fire-free fireworks project. The kids can even help out – use tacky glue instead of hot glue to make this project more kid friendly.
