Prime Publishing

At CHA, the Craft and Hobby Show in Anaheim there are special events held every evening. One of these is the Prime Publishing Blogging Event. It is an evening where several manufacturers present their products to a group of invited industry bloggers, designers and personalities. The food is fabulous, the conversations and connections energizing. The manufacturers enthusiastically present their products and opportunities for mutual working relationships. Upon returning home a big box of goodies arrives with samples from each of the manufacturers.

Our challenge is to take some of the product sent, create a design and blog about it. There is also a contest with a $1000 prize offered by Prime Publishing.

I chose to work with the Bernat Mega Chunky Yarn in a beautiful gold shade and the Floracraft Styrofoam Brand foam. Meet Bernice or Bernie Duck for short pictured above. Her wings, feet and beak are made from our Prestofelt, the rich Copper Canyon shade went perfectly with the Chunky Yarn. Prime Publishing was established in 1995. In 2008 they launched their first niche market online site. You may be familiar with Favecrafts, www.favecrafts.com.  They now publish “email newsletters and operate web site communities and e-commerce stores in the niche areas of crafting, home décor, wellness, diet, and cooking.”

As a designer I love the challenge of combining manufacturer products. I love the fact too that felt goes with just about anything!

Check out the Favecrafts designs!
Thank you for stopping by. I appreciate it very much!
