Have you been seeing the ghost trend and the ghosts made using tomato cages. I was inspired to make a smaller version, a No Sew Quick and Cute Plush Ghost using the Kunin Felt Brand Plush Felt. You can make this ghost in less than an hour!
Skill Level: Beginner
Time: 1 Hour or Less
You will need:
1 yard of Kunin Felt Brand White Plush Felt (available at Hobby Lobby.)
2 safety eyes, 12mm (optional, you can use felt or wiggly eyes, buttons)
Scrap of Kunin Felt Classic Pink
4″ Styrofoam Brand Foam Ball
1 yard Buffalo Plaid Ribbon
2″ Black Embroidery Floss
12″ wood dowel
4″ round or square block of wood
Adhesives Beacon Fabri-tac, hot glue both work well
1″ Circle Template
Scissors, pencil, measuring tape
STEP 1
Drill hole into base and insert dowel. Another option for a base is to recycle a plastic bottle. Just fill with pellets or sand halfway.
STEP 2
Insert center of foam ball down on to dowel.
STEP 3
Fold push felt into quarters. Round off two layers of outside corners. Repeat for the two under layers. (This makes a large circle.)
STEP 4
Place circle plush side down. Center stand as shown.
STEP 5
Fold plush over top of stand. It will stick to foam ball.
STEP 6
Tie ribbon loosely around ball.
STEP 7
Refer to photo for eye placement. I used a safety eye but you can use other options like felt ovals or buttons. For safety eyes I made a small hole with scissors through plush and ball.
STEP 8
Insert eyes. You can glue in place but they will stay on their own without adhesive. For mouth shape piece of floss into a smile. Use a tiny line of glue with toothpick to put on face.
STEP 9
Cut two 1″ circles from pink felt and glue under eyes.
STEP 10
Crease folds slightly to hold a pumpkin. Tada! Accessorize your No Sew Quick and Cute Plush Ghost! (Pumpkin Hat is the cuff of a sock.)
