AMIGURUMI INSPIRED PLUSH FELT CHICKEN STUFFIE PATTERN
14-15″ Circle Template
Needle and strong white thread, scissors and marker

STEP 1:

Use a large plate, wreath form or embroidery hoop to cut out a 14-15″ circle from white plush.

STEP 2:

Use thread doubled to hand sew a running stitch around the circle.

STEP 3:

Pull stitches into an open circle shape and stuff. Pull stitches tight and secure.

STEP 4:

With thread still attached close opening with a few stitches. Secure. Cut threads.

STEP 5:

Print out pattern. Cut two beaks from yellow felt, cut two combs from red felt and two pink cheeks. Cut two plush circles from felt for wings. Fold circle wings in half and glue. Refer to photo for placement of features. Begin with the eyes, as the chicken was for an older child and decor, safety eyes were just glued in. Follow with the other features, adhering in place.

This Amigurumi inspired plush felt chicken stuffie can be the start of a whole collection of plush animals. Kids are so excited to craft and create, a stuffed circle can become anything! Look at the adorable bunny made by Lucy! She had drawn a sketch of a bunny and we cut out the extra pieces like ears referring to her sketch. Kids might need help pulling the stitches tight. (NOTE: This stuffie is for a child over the age of 6. Safety eyes can be inserted before stuffing circle.)

TIPS:
1. Adjust circle size to create larger or smaller animals.
2. Use a strong thread like a quilt or button thread to do running stitch around the main body circle.
3. Hot glue works well for adhering pieces, make sure to add a little extra as the plush absorbs some.
4. Want to create different colors of plush stuffies. Use Rit DyeMore. Here is a post with all of the details. Dye Plush Felt.
