Fall is on its way, but in Florida the changing seasons look a bit different than in the rest of the country. The hot and humid days turn to warm and sunny afternoons that must be spent at the beach. The seaside always has a way of renewing my creative spirit. These Coastal Inspired Accents to Decorate Denim Pumpkins provide a beachy theme to a rustic icon of Autumn, with just a touch of sparkle.

YOU WILL NEED:
- Kunin® Classics™ Felt 9” x 12” Craft Cuts – Cream, Minty, Baby Blue, Ocean Blue, Silver Grey
- Fairfield World™ Poly-Fil®
- Stickles Glitter Glue from Ranger – Platinum, Mercury Glass, Star Dust, Diamond
- Tombow MONO Multi Liquid Glue
- Tombow MONOTWIN Permanent Marker
- Scissors
- Straight Pins
- Fishing Net – found at the craft store

INSTRUCTIONS:
STEP ONE
Get the full instructions for how to create Denim Pumpkins with Recycled Jeans on my blog. They were quick and easy going together in just about 30 minutes with limited supplies. You can also paint faux pumpkins in shades of blue to get this finished beachy look.
STEP TWO
Download and print the COASTAL INSPIRED ACCENTS PATTERNS. Roughly cut each image out from the page and pin to the breezy colors of Kunin® Classics™ Felt Craft Cuts. Cut out a full crab body from Ocean Blue and then cut out just the crab shell from Ocean Blue. Cut out a Starfish from Minty and Cream. Cut out a Sand Dollar from Silver Grey. Cut out the Trio of Shells in Minty, Baby Blue, Ocean Blue and Cream. You can also cut out each image and trace directly onto the felt with a permanent marker, prior to cutting.
TIP: Pick and choose your colors of Kunin® Classics™ Felt Craft Cuts and use what you love.
STEP THREE
Fussy cut all images out from all colors of Kunin Felt with sharp detail scissors.
STEP FOUR
Apply a line of glue to the front edge and sides of the crab shell and carefully attach to the crab body, leaving the back section open to stuff later. Set aside to dry.
STEP FIVE
While the crab dries, place all the other shapes out on a flat work surface. Decorate the Trio of Shells, Starfish and Sand Dollar with glitter glue according to the images on the pattern sheet. Set aside to dry.
STEP SIX
Carefully stuff the crab shell with Poly-Fil® using small amounts. A chopstick works perfectly to push the fiber fill into the nooks and crannies. Once stuffed, apply a bead of glue along the open edge, gently close and secure with binder clips until the glue is set.
STEP SEVEN
Once the glue is dry on the crab, outline all edges, claws, legs, and feelers with glitter glue. Set aside to dry. Randomly cut up fishing net and attach around the stem of the pumpkin.
STEP EIGHT
To finish, arrange the coastal inspired accents on and around the fishing net, decorating the pumpkins.
