DIY No-Sew Sunshine Banner

YAY!  Celebrating the end of Summer with a DIY No-Sew Sunshine Banner. This project is a great one for kids to make to decorate for those days of playing in the sunshine.  It is easy and doesn’t require any sewing so would be a great activity for a party or a play date.

Skill Level: Basic
Time: 20 minutes

You will need the following supplies:

  • 9″ x 12″ craft cuts of Kunin Classic Felt (Yellow, Orange, Blue, Pink, Black)
  • Beacon Fabri-Tac Glue
  • Wiggly Eyes
  • Scissors
  • Sizzix Die-Cut Machine and Laura Kelly Sun Die/Banner Die
Supplies needed for sunshine banner.

STEP ONE:
Use die cut machine to cut out two banners in a blue felt of your choice as well as an orange and a yellow sun.

STEP TWO:
Glue the suns to the blue banner pieces.

STEP THREE:
Cut out tiny black eyes (or use googly ones) and a smile from black felt.  Cut out tiny pink cheek circles.  Glue them to the sunshine.

STEP FOUR:
Make two thick lines of glue on the back of one of the banner pieces about two inches apart, at the top.  Put the pieces together, back to back, and let dry completely.

STEP FIVE:
Hang your banner in a special place.   You can insert a dowel through the opening or put it on a light pole.

You can now find an expanded color line of Kunin® Classicfelt; Kunin® Premiumfelt and Corduroy non-wovens fabrics in cut by the yard at your local Walmart; please inquire as to what is available in your area.

Cheers to Summertime and Sunshine!

XO, Laura
