Fall has arrived in most areas of the country, but in Florida we are still getting sunshine with highs in the 90’s and afternoon rainstorms. So, what follows rain and sunshine? Dollar store felted rainbow pumpkins! A quick and easy no sew project to brighten your Fall season.
Time: 30 Minutes
Skill Level: Beginner
YOU WILL NEED:
• Kunin Classics™ Felt Yardage – Red, Orange, Yellow, Pirate Green, Peacock, Royal Blue and Orchid (1/2 yard each)
• Kunin Classics™ Felt 9” x 12” Craft Cuts – Olive (1)
• Dollar Store Foam Pumpkins – seven
• Sizzix Big Shot with Bigz Die Leaves
• Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
• Scissors, Craft Knife, Branch Trimmers
• Tree Branch
Remove the tag and stem from each pumpkin. Carefully cut a 1-inch by 1-inch section in the top of each pumpkin, remove and discard.
Fold the 18-inch length of each color of Kunin Classics™ Felt Yardage over to create a triangle. Cut and then unfold to create an 18-inch square. Place pumpkin in the center of the square.
Insert one corner of the felt into the hole at the top of the pumpkin.
Continue to gather and insert the felt into the pumpkin, using your fingers.
If the felt gets bunched and tight, gently use the rounded closed blade from a pair of scissors to push the felt into the pumpkin.
Cut at least seven leaves from Olive Kunin Classics™ Felt Craft Cuts using a die and die cutting machine.
Collect a tree branch from the yard. Cut seven, 2-inch lengths with branch cutters.
Insert stem and leaf into hole and secure with glue gun and glue sticks.
