Hello Crafters!
I have a fun gorgeous Fall Felt Flowers Hoop project for October. This project is perfect for home décor or a “Crafty Night In” gathering.
Time: 30-40 minutes
Skill Level: Beginner
YOU WILL NEED:
Product: 9″ x 12″ craft cuts Kunin Classicfelt in Cashmere Tan, Kelly Green, Pumpkin Spice and
12” by 18” craft cuts Kunin Premiumfelt in Sandstone.
Sizzix XL die for Flowers, Circles, Leaf pieces
Wood Hoop. I used a 10 inch hoop.
Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
Scissors, recommend sharp fabric scissors. For this project, I used Fiskars micro-trip scissors and a large pair for cutting the Premiumfelt.
STEP ONE
Begin by die cutting or hand cutting. TIP: Die cutting machines are great and made projects go quickly, but all of these cuts can be done by hand cuts.
- 8 large and 3 small Cashmere Tan circles for Center Flower (Bottom)
- 1 small Cashmere Tan circle for the rosette (Top)
- 6-8 Kelly Green leaves
- 4 large and 4 medium Pumpkin Spice flower pieces for the two Side Flowers (Bottom)
- 4 medium Pumpkin Spice flower pieces for Top Flowers
- For these die cuts: Large sizes are approximately 3” diameter, Medium are 2” diameter and Small are 1” diameter
After the cuts are prepared, you can assemble your flowers together by cutting, folding and gluing them into unique shapes. TIP: Cut the flowers to the middle center and then fold them and glue to make a 3D shape.
STEP TWO
Prepare the hoop with the background felt piece in Sandstone. Trim the excess felt after you have secured the hoop.
STEP THREE
Next, adhere the felt flowers to the felt background using hot glue starting with the top/center and then adhere the felt flowers to the bottom/center. TIP: Use a ruler and washi tape (gently placed) to help align the bottom/center flowers and leaves to be centered to the top.
