DIY Leaves and Acorn Felt Cup Wrap

This DIY easy Felt Fall Cup Wrap or Cozy is a fabulous way to rock autumn.  Dressing up drinks in hot cups serves two fantastic purposes.  First, it creates a cozy that keeps the heat of the drink from burning the hands.  Second, it turns the cup of coffee, hot cocoa or tea into an accessory.  This easy no-sew leaves acorn cup wrap is a great project to do as an item to sell at a craft fair.  It also makes a wonderful gift paired with a favorite coffee, cocoa or chai.

Skill Level: Basic
Time: 30 minutes

YOU WILL NEED:

  • 9″ x 12″ craft cuts of Premium Felt – Olive, Cashmere , Walnut
  • Beacon Fabri-Tac
  • Leaf and Acorn Pattern, Die or SVG File for Digital Cutting
  • Pattern
  • Ric-Rac (12 inches)
  • Scissors
  • Brown Embroidery Floss

Step One:

Cut 6-8 leaves approximately three inches high out of Premium Olive felt. 

If you do not have a die or a digital cutting machine, you can use the free pattern.  If you use the Cricut Maker, the best setting is for thicker fabrics like burlap.

Step Two:

Cut two acorns out of Premium Cashmere and Premium Walnut Felt and glue together.  If desired, glue bows tied from embroidery floss for an extra special

Step Three:

Glue the leaves together in a straight line to end up the length that will wrap around the cup of your choice.

Step Four:

Glue the ric-rac down the center of the line of leaves to tie it to the cup.

Step Five:

Add the acorns with glue. Add extra leaves if desired to make band thicker and wider. Tie the wrap around your cup and enjoy a delicious hot beverage in style.
