DIY Felt Plant Hoop

Hello Crafters!

I am happy to share an Earth Day craft project with you this month.   I have an emoji inspired DIY Felt Plant Hoop that will be great for indoor or outdoor home décor.   Let’s get started:

Time: 1 Hour

Skill Level: Beginner

You will need:

  • 12” x 18” craft cut Kunin Premium felt in Sandstone
  • 9” x 12” craft cut Kunin Classic felt in Apple Green
  • Sizzix XL die for leaves
  • 12 inch wooden hoop
  • Tacky Glue and Hot Glue
  • Green twine (for stem)
  • Fabric Scissors

STEP 1

Die cut and hand cut/trim your green felt pieces for the 9 leaf pieces.

STEP 2

Next, glue the green felt pieces with tacky glue or hot glue to the sandstone felt.   Be sure to carefully place the leaves as you want them if you are using hot glue.   After your leaf pieces are adhered, you can add your green twine.   I used a lime green twine to provide a contrast with the felt pieces.   You can adhere the twine using tacky glue.   Once you have the twine placed, you can trim down the stem.

STEP 3

Last, you will place the sandstone felt cut into the wooden hoop and trim the excess sandstone felt.   You can also add a piece of ribbon or twine to the top of the hoop to add another layer of texture.

Thank you for visiting the Kunin Felt Blog, have wonderful Earth Day!

You can now find an expanded color line of Kunin® Classicfelt; Kunin® Premiumfelt and Corduroy non-wovens fabrics in cut by the yard at your local Walmart; please inquire as to what is available in your area.
