DIY Felt Crab – Felt in the Classroom

If you are planning an under the sea unit or looking for a fun, summer craft, this DIY felt crab and FREE printable poem are the perfect addition to any lesson or activity. Let’s grab our supplies and let’s get started!

You Will Need:

Use your Ellison Superstar Machine to die cut your Sizzix Bigz Die – Crab (Item #A11152) die in Kunin® Classic Felt 9” x 12” – Red and 9” x 12” craft cut of Kunin Corduroy™ in Walnut. Die cut a piece of orange cardstock to add a colorful layer to your DIY felt crab.

Cut around the body of the orange cardstock and adhere to your crab using felt glue or any type of kid-safe adhesive.

Cut the ends of your crab’s claws from the crab die cut in Kunin Corduroy™ in Walnut. I love how this adds so much detail to the claws of the crab! Adhere to the claws of your crab.

Adhere googly eyes to your DIY felt crab and use paint glue and/or glitter glue to add detail to your crab.

Doesn’t the paint glue and glitter glue add so much character to your felt crab? Your students will love personalizing their crab to their liking!

Print out the FREE “Crab” poem onto cardstock. How much fun is this DIY felt crab and poem? Your students will love creating this fun craft, and it will pair perfectly with your under the sea unit, too!

You can now find an expanded color line of Kunin® ClassicfeltKunin® Premiumfelt and Corduroy non-wovens fabrics in cut by the yard at your local Walmart; please inquire as to what is available in your area.

Happy Crafting,
