Create a quick and easy inspirational banner to add some color to your home décor in just under an hour! A wonderful daily reminder
Here’s What You Will Need:
- Kunin® Premium Felt 9” x 12” Craft Cuts – Charcoal Grey, Lagoon,
- Ric Rac and Ball Fringe Trim by Expo International – assorted colors
- Sizzix Bigz XL Die – Lemonade Capital Alphabet Die by Laura Kelly for Ellison Education
- Sizzix Big Shot Machine with XL Cutting Plates
- Tombow MONO Multi XL Liquid Glue
- E6000 Fabri-Fuse Glue
- Ruler; Scissors; Plain Paper; 1” Balsa Wood Trim; Permanent Marker; Acrylic Craft Paint; Paint Brush; Bakers Twine; Ribbon
Here’s How to Make it:
Step One:
Cut a variety of colors of Kunin® Premium Felt with Lemonade Alphabet Die. Select an inspirational quote and layout on a plain piece of paper.
Step Two:
Measure and cut a rectangle that is 2” wider and 5” taller than your quote. Transfer those measurements to the felt base and cut out with scissors. Banner shown is 8” wide by 11” tall. To create the arrow shape at the bottom, measure across 4” by 3” up on each side, then draw diagonal lines to a point and cut with scissors. NOTE: To add a decorative touch, trim with pinking shears.
Step Three:
Attach letters and ball fringe to banner with fabric glue. Measure and cut wood trim to 8 ½” wide. Base coat with craft paint, let dry. Apply a second coat, if necessary.
Step Four:
To create the tassel, measure and cut a rectangle of felt 6” by 12” then cut fringe along the length. Leave 1” along the top edge uncut. Apply a bead of glue along the top edge, add two 12” lengths of embroidery floss or bakers twine and tightly roll the fringed felt.
Secure by wrapping the top with embroidery floss or bakers twine and finish with a knot. Set aside to dry.
Step Five:
Apply ric rac to wood trim with fabric glue. Attach wood trim to top edge of banner with fabric glue, let dry.
Step Six:
Attach a 24” length of ribbon to the back of the wood trim to create a hanger. Tie tassel onto banner.
