Family game night is a favorite in our house. Create playing card inspired coasters with Kunin® Classic™ Felt in just about 30 minutes. I love the marled texture of this Smoky Grey color of Kunin Felt. You can see the different colored fibers in the felt. These quick and easy coasters make the perfect hostess or new home gift.

- Scissors, Small Detail

INSTRUCTIONS:
To begin the Playing Card Inspired Coasters, gather all supplies. Download and print out the COASTER PATTERNS. Roughly cut out the patterns with scissors.
Trace the coaster base onto Smoke Kunin® Classic™ Felt with a white chalk pencil. If you prefer, measure the four inch by four inch squares with a ruler.
Cut out the four squares from Smoke Kunin® Classic™ Felt with straight scissors. Make sure to cut INSIDE the trace lines to create a clean finished project.
Secure the club and spade patterns on Black Kunin® Classic™ Felt with straight pins, then the diamond and heart patterns on Red Kunin® Classic™ Felt with straight pins.
Carefully cut out the four playing card suit symbol patterns with small detail scissors. I prefer detail scissors for cutting out intricate shapes like these because the small pointed blades can accurately cut in all the nooks and crannies.
Remove the straight pins, set the paper patterns aside and trim any rough edges with the detail scissors.
Dry fit each of the playing card symbols on the coaster. Attach the symbols to the coasters with E6000 Fabri-Fuse liquid fabric glue. Set aside to dry.
Measure and cut two 4.5” by 4.5” squares onto Red and Black Kunin® Classic™ Felt with a ruler and white chalk pencil.
Cut out the Red and Black Felt squares with pinking shears, which will give them zig zag edges. If you don’t have pinking shears, you can use regular straight scissors.
To finish the Playing Card Inspired Coasters attach the larger square to the smaller square with E6000 Fabri-Fuse liquid fabric glue. Adhere the club and spade squares onto red felt, and the diamond and heart squares onto black felt.
