Land that I Love Banner

Fourth of July is just around the corner and what better way to celebrate than with a Banner that celebrates The Land That I Love. Kunin® Classic™ Felt comes is a wide variety of colors, that are perfect to showcase our patriotic spirit. With just a few supplies, free patterns, and 30 minutes, create a custom banner to keep or to gift!

Skill Level:  Beginner

YOU WILL NEED:

STEP ONE

To begin the Land That I Love Banner, gather all supplies. Download, print and roughly cut out the pattern sheet. Use the colors as outlined above or create a banner with your own style and color palette.

STEP TWO

Attach the paper patterns to the Kunin® Classic™ Felt craft cuts with straight pins. Star Field on Light Blue, then cut out with scissors. Fold the Kunin® Classic™ White Felt in half, attach the half heart pattern along the fold, and cut out with scissors. Measure and mark four 1.5” wide by 12” long rectangles on Kunin® Classic™ Red Felt, then cut out with scissors. TIP: make sure to cut inside the traced line for a clean, finished project.

STEP THREE

Dry fit the light blue star field and the red stripes onto the white heart. Attach the stripes with straight pins, flip the heart over, and trim excess from edges. Flip back over and secure all pieces with E6000 Fabri-Fuse Liquid Fabric Glue.

STEP FOUR

Attach red rick rack onto the red felt stripes and white lace onto the white felt stripes with E6000 Fabri-Fuse. Trim excess from edges with scissors.

STEP FIVE

Select several Button Jam buttons from with White Jar and dry fit onto the light blue star field. Remove the shank, or loop from the back of the buttons with wire cutters. Glue onto the banner with Fabri-Fuse.

STEP SIX

Fold the Kunin® Classic™ Royal Blue Felt in half vertically, measure up the fold 2” and cut a triangle from the edge to the fold with scissors. Apply light blue ball fringe to the edge of the bottom of the banner with Fabri-Fuse. Glue white rick rack on top of the ball fringe.

STEP SEVEN

Measure and trim a dowel to 14” with a craft knife. Fold the top edge of the banner over and secure with Fabri-Fuse to create a tube to hold the dowel. Attach the decorated heart to the banner with E6000 Fabri-Fuse Liquid Fabric Glue.

STEP EIGHT

Measure and cut assorted ribbons in two sets of 6” lengths, and then tie each bundle in the middle with one of the pieces. Tie the bundles onto the ends of the dowel, securing with one of the ribbons in a knot. To finish, measure and cut a 24” length of ribbon, and create a hanger by tying in a knot to each end of the dowel.
