Strawberry season is in full swing and they are so delicious right now. I love taking my boys to the strawberry patch! We then feast on them with whip cream and devil’s food cake for days! Well, our last name just happens to be Berry and I’m always using the strawberry emoji when I’m typing something about my kids on social media! I made this adorable little felt strawberry banner with our last name on it. It’s perfect for the front door.
Materials:
9”x12” craft cuts of Kunin Felt Classics: (1) Red, (1) Apple Green, (1) Sandstone, (1) Lagoon
Hot glue gun and glue stick
Wooden dowel
Ribbon
Scissors
Felt glue (I use Beacon)
Optional:
Alphabet Dies
Die Cutting Machine
If you don’t have a die cut machine, you can just cut letters out.
STEP ONE
Freehand cut all of the strawberry pieces. Strawberries are never the same size or shape. Fold a piece of the red felt in half and cut two different shapes that resembled strawberries. Then cut out the leaves and stem from the apple green and the seeds from sandstone.
STEP TWO
Use the die cut machine and an alphabet die to cut out the letters you need. I cut out the letters I needed for “THE BERRY’S”.
STEP THREE
Lay everything out on the lagoon cut of felt to see how much room you have to work with. so that I knew how much room I had to work with. Glue everything in place using Beacon Felt Glue.
STEP FOUR
Turn the lagoon piece over and fold the top down over the wooden dowel and glue the flap down.
STEP FIVE
Next tie the ribbon onto the dowel so that it can be hung up!
