Spring Flowers Mini Wreath

Hello Crafters!

Are you ready for bright spring days ahead! I love to make spring crafts and this month I am making a mini wreath using our wonderful new corduroy felt.

Here is my supplies list for my “Spring Flowers Mini Wreath”:

  • Kunin Corduroy in Yellow (for Side Flowers)
  • Kunin Corduroy in Pirate Green (for Leaves)
  • Kunin Classicfelt in White (for Center Flowers)
  • Kunin Classicfelt in Orange (for Center of White Flower)
  • 5 inch hoop
  • Burlap twine
  • Sizzix Big Shot Die Cutting Machine
  • Felt was cut with Sizzix XL Dies:
    • Leaves by Eileen Hull
    • Flower Layers with Heart Petals by Eileen Hull
  • Aleene’s Tacky Glue and Hot Glue
  • Scissors

Step 1

Die cut all of the pieces for the leaves and center flower using your Sizzix Big Shot with the Leaves and Flower Layers dies. Once you have the pieces cut, you can create your center/white flower and then begin to arrange the flower and leaves on the hoop. TIP: Don’t glue them with hot glue until you are positive on your final design.

Step 2

For the Yellow Flowers: Cut two – 3 inch strips and fold them in half. Then, use your scissors to cut along the corduroy (I cut every 2 lines) of the entire strip. Then, slowly and carefully, with the strip still folded in half, wind up the strip to create a flower. You may need to try it a couple of times to get the right size for your wreath. All flowers are unique, so have fun with this process. Once you are ready with your flower, you can use a piece of felt (in a die cut circle) to glue the flower to a secure base.

Step 3

Next, you can hot glue all of your leaves and flowers on the hoop at once. TIP: I glued my outside leaves first and then my center flower with leaves. I hot glued the leaves directly onto the back of the white flower.

Step 4

You can use your burlap twine to provide a finished look and texture to the top of your wreath/hoop. I adhered the twine using Aleene’s Turbo Tacky glue.

Thank you for checking out my Spring Flowers Mini Wreath on the Kunin Blog. You can now find an expanded color line of Kunin® ClassicfeltKunin® Premiumfelt and Corduroy non-wovens fabrics in cut by the yard at your local Walmart; please inquire as to what is available in your area.
