Turkey Centerpiece

What’s the one holiday that everyone always looks forward to in November? Thanksgiving, of course! Thanksgiving is a time of being thankful, spending time with friends and family, and turkey, of course! Today I am excited to share with you a quick and easy turkey craft that is perfect for that centerpiece at the dinner table. Let’s grab our supplies and gobble, gobble our way into our craft!

You Will Need:

  • 9” x 12” craft cut of Kunin Corduroy™ in Orange, Red, and Yellow
  • Googly Eyes
  • Adhesive (Hot glue works the best)
  • Orange or yellow beads (for the turkey’s beak)
  • Red ric rac trim
  • Sharpie marker
  • Ellison SureCut Die – Handprint, Child (Basic Beginnings) – Large
  • Ellison Prestige Pro Machine

Trace your student’s hand on a piece of 9” x 12” craft cut of Kunin Corduroy™ in Red, Orange, and Yellow using a fabric marker. If you are limited on time, I recommend using your Ellison Prestige Pro Machine and Ellison SureCut Die – Handprint, Child (Basic Beginnings) – Large to die cut each hand using 9” x 12” craft cut of Kunin Corduroy™ Red, Yellow, and Orange.

Arrange your hands to your liking and use adhesive to glue them together. I recommend using hot glue as it dries quickly. Adhere your corduroy felt hands to your turkey base. I found these pears at a local craft store for very cheap. If you’re on a budget, use 9” x 12” craft cut of Kunin Corduroy™ in Brown to cut a pear-like shape as the body of your turkey.

Add googly eyes, a beak, and a wattle to your turkey. I used orange and yellow beads for the beak. I purchased these beads from my local craft store. I used red ric rac trim for the wattle and drew a mouth on my turkey using a Sharpie marker.

Be sure to check out all of the variety of colors of 9” x 12” craft cut of Kunin Corduroy™. This turkey craft is sure to be a conversation piece at the dinner table on Thanksgiving Day!
Kunin’s Corduroy felt can be purchased in 9” x 12” Craft Cuts.

You can now find an expanded color line of Kunin® ClassicfeltKunin® Premiumfelt and ShaggiChic non-wovens fabrics in cut by the yard at your local Walmart; please inquire as to what is available in your area.

Happy Crafting,
