Jack-o’-lantern related crafts are one of my favorite things at this time of the year! If you want to avoid the mess of carving a pumpkin, then this craft is just for you! My students loved adding their own silly face to their jack-o’-lanterns! Let’s grab our supplies and let’s get crafting!
You Will Need:
- 9″ x 12” craft cuts Kunin Classicfelt™ in Black and Pirate Green
- Orange cardstock
- Fiskar Scissors
- Adhesive (Hot glue works the best)
- Silver Sharpie
To prep for this craft, cut an 8.5 x 11 sheet of orange cardstock in half. Have your students fold the cardstock in half and cut 2 to 3-inch slits from the folded crease of your paper. Unfold the paper and adhere the ends of the jack-o’-lantern together with hot glue (or any other type of adhesive).
Cut one-inch strips of 9″ x 12” craft cuts Kunin Classicfelt™ in the color Pirate Green. Wrap the one-inch strip of Pirate Green felt around the base of the jack-o’-lantern.
Cut 1½ inch strips of 9″ x 12” craft cuts Kunin Classicfelt™ in the color Pirate Green. Have your students use Fiskars scissors to make a zigzag pattern in the strip of felt. This piece will serve as the top of our jack-o’-lantern. Adhere the zigzag strip to the top of the jack-o’-lantern using hot glue.
Using a 9″ x 12” craft cuts Kunin Classicfelt™ in the color black, have your students create design their own jack-o’-lantern face. I recommend using a silver Sharpie for your students to draw their face before cutting. Cut out your unique jack-o’-lantern face and adhere to your jack-o’-lantern.
This craft is the perfect opportunity for students to express their creativity in a fun and engaging way! It’s amazing to see the variety of silly faces that your students come up with too! Happy Halloween!
