It’s April and spring is in the air! The flowers are starting to bloom and they couldn’t be more beautiful! Easter and Earth Day are right around the corner. This Basket of Felt Flowers Hoop Art is a perfect addition to brighten a little wall space! It could be used for Easter and Earth Day!
Materials needed:
- 12” x 18” craft cut of Kunin Premiumfelt™ (1) Lagoon, (1) Violet Sky, (1) Smoke, (1) Olive, (1) Candy Pink
- 9” x 12” craft cut of Kunin Classicfelt™ (1) White
- Beacon Felt Glue
- 8 inch Embroidery Hoop
- Sizzix/Ellison Die Cut Machine
- Flower Die and Leaf Die (Eileen Hull’s Fringed Flower and Leaves)
- Scissors
- Basket Template
- Buttons
Step: 1
Open the embroidery hoop and place the White Kunin Classicfelt™ over the inside part. Replace the outside hoop over the white felt and pull the felt making it tight. Tighten the hoop. Trim the excess felt from the back.
Step 2
Cut the flowers, leaves, stems and basket parts from the Kunin Premiumfelt™. I cut two of each color flowers.
Step 3
Glue the flower pieces together. I only used two of the three flower pieces for the die. Then glue a button to the top.
Step 4
Start to glue the pieces to the white piece of felt. I laid everything out first and took a picture of it on my phone so that I could go back and make sure I was gluing everything where I wanted it. I started with the stems. Then I moved on to the basket and leaves. Some of the leaves weren’t added until after I had some of the flowers glued down.
I use Beacon Felt Glue. It works great and dries fast!
I hope you like this Basket of Felt Flowers Hoop Art! I had fun making it. Happy Spring, Happy Easter and Happy Earth Day!
You can now find an expanded color line of Kunin Eco-fi Classicfelt; Eco-fiPlus™ Premiumfelt and ShaggiChic non-wovens fabrics in cut by the yard at your local Walmart; please inquire as to what is available in your area.
Happy Crafting,
