Handmade Stockings with Pattern

Kuni-Stocking

Stocking are my favorite part of holiday surprises.  I have always loved little things and opening my stocking gifts has been one of my most loved Christmas traditions since childhood.  With a family of six, three pets and a plethora of dolls and stuffies (that need stockings too according to my kiddos), it was time to make some more this year.  They came out super adorable.

To create these stockings you will need:

  • 18” x 22” craft cut Kunin Eco-Fi™ Plushfelt™, 1 Ivory
  • ½ yd cut by the yard  Kunin Eco-FiPlus™ Premiumfelt™ , Red
  • Gingerbread Die and Big Shot by Sizzix
  • Felt Adhesive
  • Scissors, ruler, chalk, sewing machine and matching thread, pins.

Steps:

Cut a front and back from felt using the pattern. (Stocking Pattern)

Use a Sizzix die and machine to cut out an embellishment design.

Steps

Cut the stocking’s plush top a little more than twice as long as the stocking width.

Sew on the embellishment.  I used the gingerbread man die cut.

Lay the stocking pieces out side to side and pin the plush part folding over the top to both pieces then sew it on first.

Sew the stocking around the sides.

Add a hanger if you want one from a strip of red felt or ribbon.

I added a heart to the pattern too (Just in case you need it!)

These go together very quickly so would work great for cute gift packaging too!
