YOU WILL NEED:
- Kunin© Classic™ Felt Craft Cuts 9” by 12”– Black, Smoke, Silver Grey, White, Baby Pink, Sandstone
- Candy Canes – Dollar Store
- Wiggle Eyes
- Permanent Marker – Black
- Straight Pins
- E6000 Fabri-Fuse Liquid Fabric Glue
- Scissors – Regular and Detail
- CANDY CANE MOUSE PATTERN SHEET
INSTRUCTIONS:
To begin the Candy Cane Mouse, gather all supplies. Download, print and cut out the pieces from the pattern sheet. Trace or pin the mouse body and ears patterns onto Kunin© Classic™ White, Sandstone, Silver Grey, and Smoke Felt. You can also select festive Kunin Felt colors of your choice.
Trace through the four slits on the mouse body with a fine tip permanent marker. Fold the sections of the mouse in half and carefully cut through each of the four slits with detail scissors. Detail scissors have a smaller set of blades and a sharper point than regular scissors.
After the slits are cut, fold the ears in half lengthwise and carefully weave them through the two vertical slits near the head of the mouse.
To create the noses, use the pattern provided on the pattern sheet, or cut 1/4” by 1/4” squares from Kunin© Classic™ Black Felt. Then trim those squares into circles.
Assemble the faces on the mice by attaching two wiggle eyes and one black nose with Fabri-Fuse. Set aside to allow glue to dry.
To finish the ears, cut two of the inner ear patterns from Kunin© Classic™ Baby Pink Felt for each mouse. If traced, remember to cut inside the lines for a clean, finished project.
Attach the pink felt inner ear patterns to the mouse ears using Fabri-Fuse liquid fabric glue. Set aside to allow glue to dry completely.
Slid the long straight end of the candy cane through both sets of slits on the back of the mouse. Use the ears to hold the candy cane in place. Leave the curved end of the candy cane exposed as the mouse’s tail.
