Have you seen those darling felt and fabric mushrooms everywhere? I had to make some and designed a No Sew Felt Mini Mushrooms. Quick and easy you can make several in different sizes. Add to Spring and Easter decor!
Time: 1/2 Hour
Skill Level: Beginner
YOU WILL NEED:
- Kunin® Premium™ 9” x 12” Craft Cuts – White (1), Lagoon (1) or color of choice
- Tiny Buttons or Embroidery Floss and Needle
- White Chenille Stem
- Polyester Stuffing
- Wood Round
- E6000 Fabri-Fuse Liquid Fabric Glue
- Scissors
- Ruler
- Pencil
- Scallop Pinking Shears
- Circle Templates, 2″, 3″
STEP ONE:
Cut 3″ circle with scallop shears for mushroom top. Cut a 2″ circle and 3″ by 9″ piece from white felt.
STEP TWO:
Make a cut to center on mushroom top.
STEP THREE:
Overlap cut to make a cone shape. Glue.
STEP FOUR:
(Optional) Embroider top with white french knots or glue on buttons. Place a small amount of stuffing in center.
STEP FIVE:
Roll rectangle into tube. Make stem as thick as you would like. Trim off excess. Glue.
STEP SIX:
Insert folded chenille stem through center if you want to bend mushroom slightly. Trim off excess.
Add mushroom by gluing to wood round or make a group of mushrooms in different sizes to add to a larger round or tiered tray. Use as cute place markers.
I added them to my studio, which is a very tiny space but fun to decorate!
You can now find an expanded color line of Kunin® Classicfelt and Kunin® Premiumfelt non-wovens fabrics in cut by the yard at your local Walmart; please inquire as to what is available in your area. Also widely available online at fabric.com and Amazon.
