Jolly Old St. Nick Greeting Card

Hello Crafters!

The countdown to the new year is here and I have a fun “Jolly Old St. Nick” Greeting Card project for you.    This project is perfect for a Christmas card craft and would also be good for an ornament or decoration for a holiday gift bag.

Time:  30-40 minutes

Skill Level:  Beginner

YOU WILL NEED:

Product:  9″ x 12″ craft cuts Kunin Classicfelt in Cashmere Tan, Grey, Red, White and Pirate Green

Optional:  Kunin Plush in Polar White

Sizzix XL die for Santa Face in Cashmere Tan

A2 sized greeting card in white or cream

Tulip Puff Paint in Black and White

Tacky Glue and Hot Glue

Red gemstone

Small white pom for Santa’s hat

STEP ONE

Begin by die cutting and hand cutting your felt pieces:

  • 1 Cashmere Tan Felt circle (approximately 2 ½ inches in diameter)
  • 1 hand cut of Plush Polar White Felt for Santa’s beard (another option is to use Kunin Classfelt in White) and 2 hand cut pieces of Polar White Felt for Santa’s eyebrows
  • 1 hand cut piece of Red Felt for Santa’s hat
  • 1 hand cut piece of Red Felt for small nose
  • 2 hand cut small leaves in Pirate Green Felt for Santa’s hat
  • 1 hand cut in Grey Felt for Santa’s mustache

STEP TWO

Next, you will need to take the circle piece (Cashmere Tan) and adhere it with tacky glue to the card.

Now you can adhere the small red hat and white beard pieces with tacky glue, and then the grey mustache and red nose, also with tacky glue.   After that you can add puff paint for the eyes (Black) and the hat trim (White).

STEP THREE

Once the puffy paint has dried, you can them adhere the 2 white eyebrows with a generous amount of tacky glue.   You can also adhere the green leaves and red gemstone with tacky glue.

Next, you can use a glue gun to adhere the white pom for Santa’s Hat.   As a final embellishment, you can take a pink marker (I used a pink Sharpie) and create rosy cheeks for your “Jolly Old Saint Nick” Greeting Card.  After you color the felt, you will need to quickly rub the felt to create a “blushing” effect on the felt.

Thank you for visiting the Kunin Felt Blog and have a very Merry Christmas!
