Witchy Greeting Card

Hello Crafters! I have a fun Halloween “Witchy Greeting Card” to share with you.    This project is great for kids and adults – with a few pieces of felt you have card for a teacher or a friend who loves Halloween.

Time:  20-30 minutes
Skill Level:  Beginner

YOU WILL NEED:

9″ x 12″ craft cuts Kunin Classicfelt in Black, White and Orange
Sizzix XL die for White Felt ric rac piece
Cardstock in purple or green, for an A2 card
Tacky Glue
Scissors, recommend sharp fabric scissors.   For this project, I used Fiskars micro-trip scissors.

STEP ONE

Begin by die cutting or hand cutting.  TIP:  Use sharp fabric scissors for more precise cuts and for smaller black felt pieces.

  • 1 black piece for hat brim (1-inch width)
  • 1 black piece for hat (3.5-inches width)
  • 1 orange piece for hat brim (1/2-inch width or less)
  • 1 white ric rac in felt or trim
  • 10 pieces for eyelashes, these are small pieces and can vary in sizes.

EXTRA TIP:  When you are creating your project, always know that you can cut down you felt after you cut your initial pieces.   You will see that I had longer pieces for the hat brim and trimmed them down to fit the card.

STEP TWO

Now you can use tacky glue to adhere the felt pieces to the card.   The card I used is an A2 sized card.   I glued the hat and hat brim pieces first and made sure to leave enough space for the eyelashes on the bottom half of the card.  Next, I glued the orange and white ric rac pieces to the brim.

STEP THREE

For the eyelashes, be sure to add the glue (TIP: add it slow and carefully) to the small felt pieces.   Take your time when you are placing the pieces onto the cardstock as it will not be easy to adjust their placement once the glue is on the card.  Once you have these pieces adhered, your Witchy Greeting Card is ready to dry.   It will take about an hour for the glue to set and dry.

You can now find an expanded color line of Kunin® Classicfelt and Kunin® Premiumfelt  non-wovens fabrics in cut by the yard at your local Walmart; please inquire as to what is available in your area.
