Felt Grateful Banner

A Kunin Felt Grateful Banner is the perfect banner to hang up to celebrate National Gratitude Day.   National Gratitude Day is September 21st.  Everyone has something to be grateful for.   This banner could also be hung in a cute little nook where you can write in your gratitude journal or just sit and think.

Time:  1 hour
Skill Level:  Easy

YOU WILL NEED:
9”x12” craft cut Kunin Classicfelt:  (2) Minty
9”x12” craft cut Kunin Premiumfelt (1) Prickly Purple
(8) 3 inch embroidery hoops
Felt glue (I use Beacon)
Ribbon
Scissors
(Optional) Die cut machine, die cut pads, alphabet die

STEP ONE:
Using a die cut machine, die cutting pads and an alphabet die I cut the word “Grateful” with the Minty Kunin Premiumfelt.  TIP:  you can cut your own letters by hand.

STEP TWO:
Open all of the embroidery hoops, removing the top hoop from the bottom hoop.   Cut the Prickly Purple Classicfelt into six sections.   Place the pieces of Felt onto the bottom hoops and replace the top hoop and tighten the screw to hold the Felt in place.

STEP THREE:
Using scissors, cut the excess from the back of the hoops.

STEP FOUR:
With the hoops facing up, glue the Minty felt letters to the Prickly Purple felt using the felt glue.

STEP FIVE:
Cut four strips of ribbon at 8 inches and four strips at 12 inches for your Felt Grateful Banner.  Alternating hoops, in order, loop the ribbon under the screw and tie it in a knot at the edges.   Every other letter should be shorter than the next.

STEP SIX:
Cut a piece of ribbon at 5 feet long.   Thread the 5 foot ribbon through the tied ribbons attached to the hoops.

Now your Felt Grateful banner is ready to hang out in the location of your choice!   Happy national Gratitude Day!
