St Patrick’s Day Pot of Gold DIY Felt Kid Craft

Title

As St. Patrick’s Day approaches, I am always trying to find a fun, easy craft to decorate our classroom and hallways. Using Kunin Felt Products in the classroom makes crafting easy and my students love it, too! This DIY felt pot of gold is a great way to add color to the classroom. Plus, you never know what you will find at the end of a rainbow. Let’s grab our supplies and let’s get started!

You Will Need:

Gold#1

I purchased some clip art for this craft from Kate Hadfield Designs: “Luck of the Irish” clip art set. I printed the clipart onto white cardstock and had my students color the image using markers. Have your students cut out the pot of gold.

Gold#2
Cut one-inch strips of 9″ x 12” craft cuts Kunin Classicfelt™ in a variety of colors. I tried to stick to the colors of the rainbow (ROYGBIV). Have your students place the strips of felt in order. Have your students add a small amount of glue across the strips of felt. Adhere the pot of gold to the strips of felt.

Gold#3

I used my Ellison machine to die cut a Sizzix Bigz Die – Shamrock (Item # A10176) from a 9″ x 12” craft cut Kunin Classicfelt™ in the color Pirate Green. Adhere the shamrock to the base of your pot of gold.

Gold#4

I drew out a cloud for each student onto white cardstock. Have your students use scissors to cut out their cloud and adhere it to the end of your rainbow felt strip. Have your students use glitter glue to add detail or personalize their pot of gold.

This craft is sure to put your students into the St. Patrick’s Day spirit!

You can now find an expanded color line of Kunin Eco-fi Classicfelt; Eco-fiPlus™ Premiumfelt and ShaggiChic non-wovens fabrics in cut by the yard at your local Walmart; please inquire as to what is available in your area.

Happy Crafting,
