It’s back to school time and, if you are sending someone off to college this Fall, this cute, scrap-busting needle case is the perfect project for you! Spend an afternoon with your favorite college student, teach them how to sew buttons onto their clothes, and gift them this cute project. They’ll be sure to think of you when they use it.
Supplies:
- Two 6.5” x 3” rectangles of Eco-fi Plus™ Premium Felt. One in yellow and one in blue.
- Eco-fi Plus™ Premium Felt scraps in brown, white, and yellow.
- Basic sewing supplies: Embroidery thread, needle
- Bacon & Eggs PDF Pattern.
You can now find an expanded color line of Kunin Eco-fi Classicfelt; Eco-fiPlus™ Premiumfelt and ShaggiChic non-wovens fabrics in cut by the yard at your local Walmart; please inquire as to what is available in your area.
Instructions:
1.) Use the PDF pattern to cut the egg and bacon pieces from felt.
2.) Use embroidery thread to stitch the bacon and eggs onto the blue rectangle. I used a small amount of pillow stuffing under the egg yolk to give it a three dimensional look.
3.) Once the bacon and eggs are stitched on, place the yellow rectangle under the blue, fold both pieces in half and stitch down the middle.
4.) Stitch around the entire outside of the rectangles, using a running stitch or a blanket stitch.
5.) Slip pins in needles in the inside, threading them through the felt.
Thanks for stopping by!
