The Fourth of July is right around the corner, so you have plenty of time to create a few of these patriotic table runners to decorate your barbecue or picnic. If you are attending instead of hosting, one of these table runners would make a quick and easy hostess gift, going together in just under one hour!
Here’s what you will need:
- Kunin® Eco-fi® Classicfelt™ 36” by 1 yard Cut by the Yard – Red and Royal Blue.
- Kunin® Eco-fi® Classicfelt™ 9” x 12” Craft Cuts – Neon Blue (2) & Cadet Blue (2).
- Kunin® Eco-fi® Glitterfelt™ 9” x 12” Craft Cuts – White (2).
- Beacon Adhesives Felt Glue.
- I Love to Create Tulip Fabric Writer
- 36” Ruler; White & Black Stabilo Aquarellable Pencils; Scissors; Pinking Shears; Pencil; variety of Lace and Trims in different widths all 36” long.
Here’s how to make it:
Measure a rectangle of Red Eco-fi® Classicfelt™ Cut-by-the-Yard 14” by 36” and cut with pinking shears.
Layout lace and trims on the rectangle of Red Felt to create the white stripes of the flag. Secure with felt glue, let dry.
Trace and cut two 15” wide stars Royal Blue Eco-fi® Classicfelt™ Cut by the Yard. Attach to each end of the table runner with Felt Glue, let dry. Patterns can be easily found online.
TIP: I use the Stabilo Aquarellable Pencils in White on dark colored felt and in Black on light colored felt for marking lines and tracing patterns prior to cutting.
Trace and cut two 5” wide stars from Neon Blue Eco-fi® Classicfelt™ and two 5” wide stars from Cadet Blue Eco-fi® Classicfelt™ and two 5” wide stars from White Eco-fi® Glitterfelt™ and cut out with pinking shears. Using the photo as your guide, attach to royal blue felt stars at each end of table runner with felt glue, let dry.
Embellish your stars with glittered letters, fabric paint, glitter glue, sequins and rhinestones as you like!
The Patriotic Table Runner can be adapted to fit any size table, just expand your rectangle to fit the dimensions of your party surface. And there is no sewing – just cut and glue!
