With the recent release of my Pet Shop Collection with Ellison Education and Sizzix, I am having a great time creating projects with puppies and pet critters. This little felt gift card holder is super cute and easy to stitch up for a perfect little present.
I cut the puppy and bone out with the die cut machine. The larger piece of felt measures 6” by 12”.
I stitched around the felt puppy with brown embroidery floss attaching the head to the end of the fabric piece which later folded over to be the flap. I folded the large piece of pink felt to make it a like an envelope. Then I used pink and brown floss to stich the large rectangle into an “envelope” going all the way around and leaving the one end open to create the pocket.
I added a piece of velco to the back of the puppy’s legs to create a closure and added a button nose and google eyes to complete him. The little felt bone (part of the die cut set) can be taken in and out of his little legs.
This size is perfect for a gift card and little dog treats too.
Happy Stitching,
